§ 15-1-18. RETENTION OF RECORDS.

(A)

A person installing, testing, or maintaining a backflow prevention device or assembly shall retain and make available for inspection and copying by the director backflow prevention assembly test and maintenance records and information required by this chapter.

(B)

Unless federal or state law requires information to be retained for a longer period, a person described in Subsection (A) shall retain a record under this chapter for at least three years from the date the record is created.

(C)

The record retention period is automatically extended for:

(1)

the duration of compliance litigation under this chapter; or

(2)

a longer period set by an enforcement order issued under this chapter.
