§ 15-9-173. RELOCATION OF A CITY DISTRIBUTION OR COLLECTION FACILITY.

  • (A)

    If the City relocates a distribution or collection facility, each affected customer shall move and reconnect the customer's connection to the new facility not later than the 120 th day after the City sends written notice to the customer.

    (B)

    Except as provided in Subsection (C), a customer is responsible for the cost of reconnection.

    (C)

    The director of the Water Utility or the Electric Utility may use City funds to reconnect a residential customer line to a relocated facility if the director determines that the reconnection promotes the efficient operation of the utility or enhances utility service.

    (D)

    If a director decides to use City funds to relocate a residential customer line, the property owner will be notified not later than the 30th day before the start of construction work.

    (E)

    The City is not responsible for the operation or maintenance of a customer line reconnected to a City facility under this section or for other customer lines located on private property.

    (F)

    The City may disconnect a customer's utility service if the customer fails to comply with this section.
