§ 15-9-202. PENALTY.

(A)

A violation of this chapter is a Class C misdemeanor for each day or portion of a day the violation continues. An offense under this chapter is punishable by a fine not to exceed:

(1)

$500, except as provided in Subsection (2); or

(2)

$2,000 if the offense is a violation of regulation relating to fire safety, zoning, or public health and sanitation.

(B)

Proof of a culpable mental state is not required for conviction of an offense under this chapter.
