§ 6-5-42. COMPLIANCE WITH HEALTH AND POLLUTION STANDARDS.
(A)
A water supplier shall:
(1)
provide drinking water that is free from deleterious matter; and
(2)
comply with drinking water standards established by the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality.
(B)
If a water supplier draws drinking water from an open body of water, the health authority shall presume that the water is polluted and require that the water supplier coagulate, settle, filter, and chemically treat the water in accordance with approved practices.
(C)
If a water supplier obtains drinking water from an underground source, the health authority shall require that the water supplier treat the water in accordance with the standards of the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality.
