§ 8-2-1. DEFINITIONS.
In this chapter:
(1)
AGENCY means an organization that provides supervised care for children including a state school or hospital, summer day camp, or private school.
(2)
CAREGIVER means an agency, day care center, or private swim class.
(3)
CUSTODIAN means a parent, guardian, or person authorized by a parent or guardian to have custody of a minor child.
(4)
DAY CARE CENTER means a person or organization that provides care for six or more children.
(5)
GROUP ACTIVITY means recreational swimming or swim instruction.
(6)
NON-SWIMMING MINOR means a child less than 12 years old who is unable to complete a beginner skill swim test endorsed or used by the American Red Cross.
(7)
PRIVATE SWIM CLASS means a person or organization that regularly teaches swimming to an individual or group.
