§ 15-4-67. GENERAL POWERS AND DUTIES OF EXAMINER.

  • A hearings examiner shall be present during a hearing under this division. The hearings examiner shall:

    (1)

    preside over and conduct the hearing in an orderly and impartial manner;

    (2)

    rule on offers of proof;

    (3)

    receive relevant evidence;

    (4)

    regulate the course of the hearing and the order of appearance of the parties at interest;

    (5)

    hold settlement, pre-hearing, or issues conferences with the parties at interest;

    (6)

    dispose of procedural requests; and

    (7)

    make other rulings and take other action.
